NAF Neutralizes Nine ISWAP Fighters in Borno Operation

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) successfully neutralized nine ISWAP fighters in Borno State, as reported by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame. This operation was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding the movements of suspected terrorists within the Sambisa Forest.

The NAF deployed a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) for persistent Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), which allowed troops to identify and track a group of terrorists approaching a suspected hideout. Subsequent battle damage assessments confirmed significant impacts on the targeted compound, resulting in the deaths of nine ISWAP fighters, including Abu Khalid Al Muhajir, a key commander responsible for security escorts for senior ISWAP members.

The operation is expected to disrupt ISWAP’s leadership protection and coordination of activities, highlighting the effectiveness of intelligence-driven air operations.
