NAFDAC Alerts Nigerians On Fake Milk In Circulation

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning to Nigerians about fake milk in circulation. In a statement released on Friday, NAFDAC revealed that Promasidor Nigeria Ltd, the marketing authorization holder and manufacturer of Cowbell Milk, had informed the agency about the existence of a counterfeit product that closely resembles genuine Cowbell Milk 12g sachet Milk.

The agency noted that Promasidor had stopped producing Cowbell Milk in September 2023 and replaced it with Cowbell Creamy Goodness. NAFDAC emphasized that the fake product is currently in circulation and urged healthcare professionals and consumers to report any suspicions of the sale of substandard or counterfeit food products to the nearest NAFDAC office.
