NANS Demands Investigation into Lekki Building Collapse

The Nigerian Students Association (NANS), represented by its South West Zone D chapter, has expressed condolences to the family of Mr. John Asaber, who was reportedly among the victims of the recent building collapse in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

NANS has called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragedy and urged authorities to hold anyone found responsible accountable. In a statement issued by Tope Olugbemi from the public relations office, the organization condemned the recurring cases of building collapses across Nigeria, particularly in Lagos State.

They stressed the importance of strict adherence to approved construction standards and effective oversight by relevant regulatory agencies to prevent such incidents. NANS also expressed concern over alleged attempts to minimize the scale of the disaster and conceal casualty information, calling for transparency and integrity in the investigation process to ensure justice for the affected families.
