NANS Demands Urgent Intervention as Water Crisis Hits Gombe Tertiary Institutions

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) North East Zone, through its coordinator Muazu Hina, has highlighted a severe water crisis in tertiary institutions across Gombe State. The shortage of potable water poses a serious threat to student health and academic activities, exacerbated by an ongoing cankerworm infestation disrupting water sources and sanitation facilities on campuses.

NANS has called on the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to urgently intervene by deploying solar-powered boreholes to sustain water infrastructure in affected institutions. Despite repeated appeals, the water crisis persists, prompting NANS to demand concrete action to safeguard student welfare and ensure a conducive learning environment in Gombe State and the wider North East region.
