NANS Launches Constituency-Based Scholarship Scheme

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) unveiled a constituency-based scholarship scheme designed to expand educational access and mentorship for Nigerian students. The announcement was made in Lokoja by NANS President Babatunde Akintey, who described the initiative as a significant step toward bridging the gap in access to quality education and global opportunities for students.

The program aims to create sustainable pathways for academic and career advancement, ensuring that Nigerian students are not limited by geographical or financial constraints. The scheme will enable lawmakers to channel constituency resources into a transparent educational support system that directly benefits students.

Director of the Intern Project Partnership, Comrad Abraham Adewoy, stated that the program will leverage partnerships across the United Kingdom, United States, and Europe, connecting Nigerian students with the global academic community. The initiative is expected to support 20-30 students annually, with at least 10 beneficiaries gaining exposure through internship programs.

NANS emphasized that no region would be excluded from this initiative, which aligns with existing funding mechanisms for educational interventions.
