Nasarawa State Bans Football Matches in Public Schools

The Nasarawa State Government has implemented a ban on football matches within public school premises across the state. This decision was disclosed by Peter Ahemba, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, during a monthly press briefing held on Monday in Lafia.

Ahemba explained that the action became necessary due to the repeated damage caused to public facilities, including roofs and other infrastructure, by players during these matches. The government has officially abolished the practice and directed school heads to ensure strict adherence to the new directive.

This measure aims to protect school infrastructure from further damage, and Ahemba warned that designated school pitches should be used for pupil games rather than outside areas that could lead to additional damage to government facilities.
