Nadia Zakaria Builds Orphanage in Kogi State

Nadia Zakaria, the 16-year-old daughter of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has successfully built, equipped, and handed over an orphanage home in Etahi Community, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State. The facility was commissioned on Sunday, with community members and religious leaders in attendance.

Initiated when Nadia was 15, the project was funded through donations from family, friends, and the public. The orphanage was handed over to the management of Oyiza-Salem Divine Orphanage Home, which recognized it as a significant intervention for vulnerable children.

During the commissioning, Nadia expressed her desire to help children who lack the opportunities she has had, stating that raising funds was initially challenging due to her age. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan confirmed that she did not financially contribute to the project, highlighting Nadia's independent efforts.

The senator also mentioned that Nadia is planning another initiative to build a care home for pregnant women in Kogi Central.
