NMA Dismisses Rumors on Resident Doctor's Death in Rivers Hospital

The National Medical Association (NMA) in Rivers state addressed rumors surrounding the death of resident doctor Oluwafemi Rotifa at Rivers Teaching Hospital in Port Harcourt. NMA dismissed reports suggesting Rotifa died during a grueling shift, clarifying that he was unwell but chose to remain on duty.

Contrary to media claims, NMA explained that Rotifa collapsed in the hospital's call room, not while actively working in a ward. The association detailed Rotifa's medical treatment, highlighting the administration of intravenous quinine for severe malaria.

NMA emphasized the importance of accurate information and clarified the circumstances leading to Rotifa's tragic passing, emphasizing the need for proper rest and medical care for healthcare workers.
