Navy Seizes 500 Litres of Illegal AGO and Cannabis in Lagos

The Nigerian Navy has intercepted 500 litres of products suspected to be illegally sourced Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and substances believed to be Cannabis sativa in Folu Community, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State. This operation was conducted on Monday by personnel from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Lekki.

The details were shared in a statement by Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, the Director of Naval Information, made available to Defence Correspondents in Abuja on Tuesday. The operation aimed to disrupt the illegal trade and storage of petroleum products and the proliferation of illicit drugs in the area.

Although the suspects fled the scene prior to apprehension, the recovered products and substances were secured and transported to the base for further investigation and appropriate action. This operation is part of the Navy's ongoing efforts to protect national economic interests and ensure public safety and security within its Area of Operations.
