NBTE Approves 23 New Programmes for Akwa Ibom Polytechnic

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved 23 additional programmes for the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, located in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. This approval, communicated through a statement from the institution’s media unit in Uyo on Tuesday, brings the total number of programmes offered by the polytechnic to 44.
The letter detailing the approval was signed by Ayo Aroge, the Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes, on behalf of the Executive Secretary. The newly accredited programmes are set to commence in the 2026/2027 academic session and will initially run for two years.
However, full accreditation will require another quality assurance visit by the end of September 2028. The new programmes include ND Surveying & Geo-informatics, ND Estate Management and Valuation, ND Building Technology, ND Petroleum Marketing & Business Studies, ND Crime Management, ND Artificial Intelligence, and several others across various fields.
