NCC Appoints Princess Emiko as Interim Chair of DBI

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has appointed Princess Oforitsenere Emiko as the interim chairman of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) Governing Board. This strategic move is part of the NCC's plan to reposition the institute for the next era of Nigeria's communications sector and digital economy.

Princess Emiko will collaborate with board members including Engr. Abraham Oshadami, Ms.

Rimini Makama, and Mr. David Daser, who remains a board member with an unexpired tenure.

The DBI, established in May 2004, focuses on training in telecommunications and information technology, addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in Nigeria's fast-evolving digital landscape. The interim leadership will concentrate on five key areas: education, training, research, development, and innovation, aiming to empower Nigeria's youth, who constitute 70% of the population, and close the capability gap in technology adoption across the communications sector.
