NCC Approves 52 New Mobile Phone Models for Use in Nigeria

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has approved 52 new mobile phone models for use in Nigeria, marking a significant increase from the previous year. The approved phones come from global and regional brands such as Alcatel, Motorola, Vivo, Apple, Lenovo Mobile, Xiaomi, Gionee, Nokia Corporation, Techno, and Samsung.

These devices have been tested and certified to meet NCC technical standards to ensure safety, reliability, and seamless connectivity within the Nigerian telecom environment. The NCC mandates that all equipment manufacturers, vendors, and operators must comply with these standards for products imported and sold in Nigeria.

The approval of these new phone models comes at a time when internet adoption rates in Nigeria are increasing, with millions of new subscribers recorded in a single month.
