NCC Grants Enugu 15-Year Lease for Digital Hub

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has granted the Enugu State Government a 15-year lease to operate its Digital Industrial Park and Learning Centre. This initiative aims to foster artificial intelligence, startups, digital skills, and technology-driven enterprises.

Dr Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, announced the partnership during a handover ceremony in Enugu. The facilities are designed to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and human capital development, with the goal of attracting investment and creating jobs.

The NCC expects the partnership to enhance skills acquisition, startup incubation, and research, ultimately positioning Nigeria as a competitive destination for technology-enabled services. Maida emphasized that the success of the initiative would be measured by its impact on skills development and job creation.

The NCC's decision to transfer the facilities was influenced by Enugu State's investments in education, infrastructure, and digital capacity, aligning with the Federal Government’s broader digital economy objectives.
