NDC Confirms Governorship Candidates in All 28 States

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially stated that it has nominated governorship candidates in all 28 states where elections will occur in 2027, refuting claims that it lacked candidates in 12 states. The party described these claims as “false, malicious,” and aimed at undermining its political presence.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the NDC listed candidates for the 12 states, including Senator Kabiru Marafa (Zamfara), retired Rear Admiral Ibrahim Sanusi Kasim (Borno), and Hon. John Odey (Cross River), among others. The NDC asserted its preparedness and structure across all states, emphasizing that it is a national movement rather than a regional party.

The party urged media professionals to verify information before publication to prevent the spread of unverified claims. It also positioned itself as an alternative to established parties, claiming Nigerians are tired of the old political order and advocating for a political agenda focused on security, employment, and accountability.
