NDLEA Nabs South African Woman with 36.65kg Cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested 34-year-old South African woman Qhina Beauty at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on October 7, 2026. She was attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to South Africa via Doha with 36.65kg of cocaine concealed in her luggage.
A search revealed 30 blocks of cocaine wrapped in cellophane tape and packed in seven parcels. During interrogation, Beauty stated she arrived in Nigeria on September 30 to collect the consignment, recruited by another South African woman who promised her R20,000 for successful delivery.
Investigations led to the arrest of Uchenna Victor Umunnakwe, a 46-year-old car dealer, on October 14, who admitted to assisting Beauty. In a separate operation, 62-year-old Anetor Gloria Ubong, a Nigerian-American realtor, was arrested on October 21 upon arrival from Houston with 9.45kg of cannabis concealed in gift-wrapping paper.
