Yobe University Biomedical Centre Praised as Top Facility

The National Economic Council Implementation Monitoring Committee praised the Biomedical Science Research and Training Centre (BioRTC) at Yobe State University during a visit on Friday. Led by Borno State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Maina Yaumi, the committee inspected various facilities, including the BioRTC, library, lecture theatres, and classrooms.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Tahir, was University Librarian Dr.

Amina Makintami, accompanied by other university officials. Yaumi expressed surprise and admiration for the university's development, stating that the BioRTC is exceptional and among the best in Africa.

He announced plans to document findings and forward challenges to relevant authorities. The committee intends to recommend the BioRTC for presentation to the National Economic Council, emphasizing the need for increased publicity to attract researchers, funding, and investors.

Yaumi called for enhanced funding for research activities at the institution, highlighting the potential for international collaboration and support.
