Yobe Government Lauds Training of 1,000 Professionals

The Yobe State government, represented by Governor Mai Mala Buni and Deputy Alhaji Idi Bard Gubana, commended the Biomed Science Research Training Centre at Yobe State University for successfully training 1,000 professionals. This initiative is part of the state's strategy to become an emerging hub for advanced biomedical research across Nigeria and Africa.

During a courtesy visit to the international delegation of scientists participating in the combined 6th Biomed Science Research Training Centre summer school and the 2nd Computational Neuroscience course, Governor Buni celebrated the transformative impact of the center. He emphasized the importance of the state’s investment in academic excellence, which yields measurable outcomes beyond institutional walls.

The governor expressed hope that ongoing research at the center would address chronic kidney diseases affecting communities in northern Yobe. He praised Professor Mahmoud Bukar Maina, the founder and director of the Biomed Science Research Training Centre, for his visionary leadership in establishing state-of-the-art laboratories and delivering specialized training programs.
