NEC Endorses Revised National Social Protection Policy 2026-2030

The National Economic Council (NEC) has officially endorsed the Revised National Social Protection Policy (NSPP: 2026 – 2030). This policy framework is designed to strengthen the coordination, financing, implementation, monitoring, and accountability of social protection initiatives throughout Nigeria.

Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, made this announcement while briefing State House Correspondents following the NEC's meeting for August, which was chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima. The policy aims to enhance the effectiveness of social protection measures across the federation.

The Council will be chaired by the Vice President, with the Ministers of Budget and Economic Planning, Labour and Employment, and Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction serving as Vice Chairs.
