Yobe University’s BioRTC Recognized as Top Research Hub

The National Economic Council (NEC) Implementation Monitoring Committee, led by Hon. Dr. Maina Yaumi, praised Yobe State University's Biomedical Science Research and Training Centre (BioRTC) as one of the best research facilities in Africa during a monitoring visit to the university in Damaturu, Yobe State. The committee toured various infrastructures, including the University Library and classrooms, and expressed surprise at the world-class facilities available.

Dr. Yaumi stated that the BioRTC is exceptional and comparable to few others in Africa. He announced plans to recommend the centre for national recognition, emphasizing the need for increased publicity to attract international researchers and investors.

The committee also noted the university's strong foundation for research excellence. The university was represented by Dr. Amina Makintami, University Librarian, along with other officials, including the Vice-Chancellor's office staff.

The NEC delegation assured that their observations would be presented to the National Economic Council for further consideration.
