NECA Advocates for Improved Psychosocial Work Environments

The Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association (NECA) has urged stakeholders to intensify efforts in developing sustainable and healthy psychosocial work environments to improve employee well-being and organizational resilience. Mr.
Adewale Smatt Oyerind, the Director General of NECA, highlighted the importance of mental and emotional well-being in the workplace, advocating for a holistic approach to occupational safety and health across various sectors. He noted that while progress has been made in improving workplace practices, collective action is necessary to further strengthen psychosocial conditions in line with evolving global standards, including guidance from the International Labour Organization (ILO).
NECA encourages stakeholders to adopt strategic measures that promote positive work environments, such as clear job roles, manageable workloads, supportive leadership, and policies that promote work-life balance. Additionally, NECA plans to host a knowledge-sharing session on April 30, 2026, to reinforce collective commitments to safer and healthier workplaces.
