NEDC Empowers 20 Youths with Eco-Friendly Starter Packs

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) distributed starter packs to 20 beneficiaries trained in the fabrication of energy-efficient stoves and briquette production in Bauchi State. This event took place on Thursday and is part of NEDC's efforts to promote youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and economic self-reliance in the North-east region.
Alhaji Aliyu Isyaku, the NEDC Bauchi State Coordinator, stated that the equipment aims to help beneficiaries establish businesses, generate sustainable income, and create employment opportunities. The beneficiaries received training in 2023 and 2024.
Isyaku emphasized the business potential of these ventures in reducing dependence on firewood, combating deforestation, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. He also mentioned the importance of monitoring and providing technical guidance to ensure the effective use of the starter packs.
Other officials, including Alhaji Modu Ali and Sulaiman Ibrahim, advised beneficiaries to adhere to the intended use of the equipment and warned against selling or abandoning it.
