FAAN Partners with MTN to Install Wi-Fi at Airports

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has initiated a collaboration with MTN Nigeria to install Wi-Fi systems at five major airports, starting with Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. FAAN's Managing Director, Olubunmi Kuku, confirmed the rollout, emphasizing the importance of reliable Wi-Fi for passenger comfort and satisfaction.

The project aims to address the challenges faced by travelers who currently struggle with connectivity issues at airports. The Wi-Fi service will be provided at no cost to passengers, facilitated through a public-private partnership with MTN, which will leverage its brand rights within the airport space to offset operational expenses.

FAAN's Director of Commercial Business Development, Joi Agunbiad, highlighted that the initiative is part of a larger plan to enhance airport services, with Kano, Port Harcourt, and Enugu airports set to join the network soon. The installation of Wi-Fi is expected to significantly improve the airport experience, making it a competitive global travel hub.
