NEPC Denies Strike Rumors, Affirms Industrial Harmony

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) issued a statement through its Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Aliu Sadiq, denying rumors of a planned strike, labeling them as unfounded.

This clarification followed a meeting with the leadership of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), NEPC Unit, where Comrade Moruf Ogunlana confirmed that no strike action had been planned. The NEPC emphasized that industrial harmony is intact and that staff welfare has been prioritized, with over 75% of personnel receiving professional training since 2023.

Under the leadership of Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, the NEPC has introduced initiatives such as the Export Skills Acquisition Centre, which has trained over 500 youths and women in garment and bag production for export.

The Council also reported a non-oil export value of $6.1 billion in 2025, the highest since its establishment, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The NEPC urged the public to disregard misleading reports.
