NEPC Denies Planned Staff Strike Amid Misinformation

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has officially refuted claims regarding an alleged planned strike by its staff. Following a meeting with the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), NEPC management, represented by the Head of Corporate Communications, Mr.

Aliu Seidu Sadiq, stated that the rumors are false and should be disregarded. Union Chairman Comrade Moruf Ogunlana confirmed that the Council enjoys industrial harmony and that no consultations regarding a strike had taken place.

The NEPC clarified that there have been no new appointments of Directors and emphasized its commitment to staff welfare, with over 75% of personnel trained in various professional areas since 2023. Under the leadership of Nonye Ayeni, NEPC has achieved a record non-oil export value of $6.1 billion in 2025 and implemented a third-party certification program for exporters.

The Council urged the public to ignore misleading reports and reaffirmed its dedication to advancing Nigeria’s non-oil export agenda in line with the Federal Government's Renewed Hope vision.
