NERC Hosts Seminar for Lagos High Court Judges on Electricity

On Monday, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) held a regional seminar for judges of the Lagos State High Court. The seminar aimed to strengthen the judiciary's understanding of the evolving Nigerian electricity supply industry.

Dr. Musiliu Oseni, Chairman of NERC, addressed the attendees, emphasizing the need for judges to be familiar with the complexities of the power sector.

Mr. Lawal Pedro San, Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, commended NERC for providing a valuable platform for judges to engage with stakeholders in the electricity industry.

Justice Atinuke Ipay, representing the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba, encouraged participants to take full advantage of the seminar. The event featured presentations on various aspects of the Nigerian electricity supply industry, including the transition to a decentralized electricity sector and legal regulatory perspectives.

The seminar's theme focused on the transition of Nigeria's electricity market, marking the first in a series of regional engagements aimed at enhancing judicial capacity and promoting a shared understanding of the legal regulatory framework governing the electricity market.
