New UNIPORT VC Chike Addresses Cultism, Harassment Issues

Prof. Princewill Chike was inaugurated as the 10th Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt on a Monday in Port Harcourt, succeeding Prof.

Owunari Georgewill. In his address, he emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards cultism and sexual harassment, urging students to leave cult groups immediately.

He stated that the university would not tolerate any actions that tarnish its reputation. Chike also cautioned against unrest on campus and called for amicable resolutions to issues raised by various student unions.

He expressed his commitment to work closely with the university's governing council, which is led by Senat Mao Ohuabunwa, who commended the seamless transition from the previous administration. Chike's strategic agenda includes enhancing academic excellence, quality assurance, research innovation, and digital transformation.

He urged students to maintain a peaceful environment and assured them of his dedication to the university's growth.
