UNIPORT VC Declares Zero Tolerance for Cultism, Harassment

Prof. Chike Princewill has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) and has declared a zero-tolerance policy towards cultism and sexual harassment.

In his inaugural address at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) hall, he warned students and staff against actions that could tarnish the university's image. He pledged to uphold the institution's pillars of discipline and academic excellence.

Prof. Princewill urged staff to embrace integrity and called on parents and guardians to counsel their children against engaging in activities that could jeopardize their futures.

He outlined an eight-point strategic agenda aimed at driving the university's administration, which includes enhancing academic quality, ensuring research innovation, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders. He acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu and Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, in his appointment process, which involved 22 professors from 18 universities across Nigeria and four from Ghana.
