NSC Appoints Ikpeme as Acting NFF General Secretary

The Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) has appointed Ikpeme as the Acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after the resignations of NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi, and several Executive Committee members on Thursday. Dr Ademola Olajire, the former Director of Media and Communications, has been named Acting Deputy General Secretary.

The NSC has also suspended all processes related to the NFF Elective Congress scheduled for September 27, stating that a new electoral process will begin after comprehensive reforms in consultation with FIFA and CAF. These reforms aim to address governance issues within Nigerian football.

Additionally, the NSC directed the chairmen and chief executive officers of various leagues, including the Nigeria Premier Football League and Nigeria National League, to hand over operations to their Chief Operating Officers. If a league's COO is not an NFF staff member, Ikpeme will appoint a replacement from within the federation to ensure administrative continuity during the transition.
