NFF Calls Emergency Meeting Amid Resignation Reports

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has called for an emergency meeting to be held on Thursday at 12 noon in Abuja, as indicated in an invitation signed by Yakubu Sarma. The meeting aims to address critical issues surrounding the functioning of the NFF Executive Committee and its secretariat.

The agenda includes discussions on “current developments” within the NFF, the operational status of the Executive Committee, and the implications of these developments for the governance, stability, and independence of the federation. The Congress will also consider “appropriate measures” in accordance with the statutes of the NFF, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and FIFA.

Participants invited to the meeting include State Football Association chairmen, club representatives, members of the Referees Association, Coaches Association, Players Union, and the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA). The invitation emphasized the mandatory nature of attendance and requested members to confirm their participation.

This meeting comes amid increased scrutiny of the administration and governance of Nigerian football.
