NGF Launches Inaugural Oba Saheed Elegushi Golf Championship

The Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) announced the organization of the inaugural Oba Saheed Elegushi Open Golf Championship, as stated by NGF President Otunba Olusegun Runsewe during the second edition of the Nigeria Golf Federation Stakeholders and Golfers Summit held in Abuja. The summit, which took place over two days, involved participation from over 46 golf clubs and stakeholders.

The championship is intended to honor His Royal Highness, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, and aims to enhance the development and promotion of golf in Nigeria. Runsewe emphasized the need for collaboration among golfers, clubs, sponsors, and government to advance the sport.

Oba Elegushi expressed his gratitude for the honor and encouraged investment in domestic golf infrastructure. He committed to supporting the tournament's success and mobilizing stakeholders to elevate its status in the Nigerian golfing calendar.

The summit also focused on sustainable growth and youth development in golf, adopting resolutions to improve governance and infrastructure.
