NgREN Joins eduGAIN, Boosting Global Research Collaboration

The Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN) has been admitted into eduGAIN, a global authentication infrastructure that connects identity federations worldwide. This achievement, announced by NgREN's Managing Director, Dr.

Joshua Atah, follows a rigorous assessment and voting process conducted by the eduGAIN assembly. The membership will greatly benefit Nigerian institutions by enhancing collaboration opportunities and securing access to international scholarly resources.

It allows Nigerian universities and research institutions to fully participate in the global inter-federation ecosystem, thereby improving their access to a wide range of international resources and services. Dr.

Atah expressed appreciation to the eduGAIN chair and assembly members for their diligent assessment of Nigeria's application. NgREN remains committed to strengthening digital trust and enabling secure federated access to support innovation across the higher education research ecosystem in Nigeria.
