Nigeria and Denmark Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties

Nigeria and Denmark have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in trade, investment, and sustainable development. This commitment was expressed during a courtesy visit by Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens Ole Bach Hansen, to the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, in Abuja.

Bagudu emphasized Nigeria's readiness to broaden engagement in sectors such as agriculture, livestock development, the digital economy, the blue economy, and the judicial sector. He noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration aims to address decades of underinvestment and improve the investment climate, with Nigeria attracting approximately $7 billion in infrastructure investments over the past two years.

Ambassador Hansen reiterated Denmark’s commitment to Nigeria, highlighting shared values and interests in democracy and stability. He also mentioned Denmark's expansion of its diplomatic presence in Nigeria, including a larger embassy and more personnel to support commercial engagement.
