Nigeria Lacks Development Direction Since 1960, Says APC Chieftain

Abiodun Ajiboye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed concerns regarding Nigeria's lack of direction in development since gaining independence in 1960. Speaking on a prime-time television program on Tuesday, Ajiboye described the state of the country's infrastructure as largely uncoordinated and criticized the failure of successive governments to implement long-standing development plans.

He noted that the current administration under President Bola Tinubu has infrastructure projects conceived as far back as 1983, which previous administrations neglected. Ajiboye lamented the failure to cultivate a culture of patriotism among Nigerians and emphasized that addressing the nation's challenges requires collective responsibility from all citizens.

He stated that the problems facing Nigeria are the problems of every individual, highlighting the need for a concerted effort to build a nationalist and patriotic society.
