ABU Lecturer Dr. Iliyasu Sadiq Kidnapped and Killed

Dr. Iliyasu Abubakar Sadiq, a lecturer and researcher at the Division of Agricultural Colleges, ABU, Zaria, was kidnapped from his farmhouse in Tudun Muntsira on the morning of September 20, 2027. His body was discovered later that day at Karau-Karau village, with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to his widow, Hajiya Baraka, the attack began when their dog barked, prompting Dr. Sadiq to check outside. He returned reciting an Islamic phrase and urged Baraka to help him shut the door as attackers attempted to force their way in.

The gunmen, who were not masked, restrained Dr. Sadiq and demanded valuables from Baraka. Despite their pleas for mercy, the attackers took Dr. Sadiq with them.

After they left, Baraka alerted neighbors, but initial searches yielded no results. Hours later, she learned of her husband's death, with the gunmen having shot him and taken his belongings.
