APC Defends Tinubu's Economic Policies Against Obi's Critique

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi's criticism of the economic reforms implemented by President Bola Tinubu's administration. APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, stated that Nigeria requires continuity in policy rather than a new economic direction as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

Obi had called for Tinubu to step aside, labeling the administration's agenda as one of "failure and renewed hopelessness." In his response, Arodiogbu highlighted the importance of consolidating ongoing reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidy and fiscal restructuring, which he claims are essential for sustainable economic growth. He argued that these policies, while challenging, have begun to yield positive results and should not be reversed.

Arodiogbu criticized Obi for failing to offer practical alternatives and urged Nigerians to assess political leaders based on their governance records and ability to maintain economic progress.
