Nigeria Launches Air Cargo Corridor with RwandAir

Nigeria has officially launched a new air cargo corridor in collaboration with RwandAir, aimed at enhancing direct export routes to Kigali, Lusaka, and Harare. The announcement was made by Jumok Oduwol, the Minister of Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, via an official social media account.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen Nigeria's air cargo export network and improve access for local businesses to key markets across East and Southern Africa. The project builds on earlier pilot shipments involving Nigerian businesses, including women-led enterprises, and is set to culminate in RwandAir shipments scheduled for mid-June 2026.

Oduwol emphasized that this program reflects ongoing collaboration with regional governments and partners to boost intra-African trade and reduce logistical barriers that limit cross-border exports. The launch follows discussions during President Bola Tinubu's visit to Rwanda and aims to enhance trade relations between Nigeria and Rwanda, including various areas such as tourism and anti-corruption efforts.
