Nigeria Introduces 30-Day Visa-Free Policy for Rwandans

The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), led by Director General Stella Mari Amuwa, commended President Bola Tinubu for implementing a 30-day visa-free policy for Rwandan nationals. This initiative is seen as a significant milestone in advancing tourism exchange and strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and Rwanda, aligning with the government's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Ola Awakan, a representative of the NTDA, emphasized that this reciprocal arrangement will ease movement for people, foster cultural exchange, and open new tourism opportunities. Rwandan visitors can now explore Nigeria's rich heritage and diverse attractions without the previous visa hurdles.

The policy is expected to enhance Nigeria's competitiveness in the global tourism arena, encouraging longer stays and increased spending, which could stimulate job creation in the hospitality and creative industries. Awakan also called for similar visa exemptions for other African countries to boost inbound tourism and remove barriers to tourist traffic.
