Nigeria Police Enhances Skills Against Mass Destruction Threats

The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the nation's ability to prevent, detect, respond to, and investigate Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and explosive threats. This commitment was highlighted during the Final Phase of the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Curriculum Development Workshop for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Command, organized by CP Hauwa Ibrahim in collaboration with the United States Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

Major Brittany Brown led the DTRA delegation, while Mrs. Pamela West represented ONSA.

The workshop concluded a series of Train-the-Trainers sessions aimed at institutionalizing the National Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Curriculum across security agencies. DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, representing IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, described the initiative as a strategic investment in operational preparedness, emphasizing the need for law enforcement to be proactive and well-trained.

He expressed gratitude to the partners for their support in enhancing the Nigeria Police Force's operational capabilities.
