Nigeria Police Enhance C-WMD Response Capacity Workshop

The Nigeria Police Force has concluded the final phase of its Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (C-WMD) Curriculum Development Workshop, aimed at enhancing its capacity to address chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive threats. This workshop was organized in partnership with the United States Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and took place at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

It represents a significant milestone in institutionalizing specialized training for officers of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Command. The event featured high-level delegations, including DTRA's Major Brittany Brown and ONSA's Mrs Pamela West.

DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, representing IGP Olatunji Disu, emphasized the strategic importance of proactive policing and international cooperation in addressing evolving threats. CP Hauwa Ibrahim expressed gratitude for the collaboration and reiterated the commitment to integrate the C-WMD framework into standard police training.
