Nigeria's Ambassador to Hungary Advocates for More Scholarships

A delegation led by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Hungary, Abasi Braimah Ogwime, visited a Hungarian university to promote educational exchange and seek more scholarships for Nigerian students. The delegation included the Embassy’s Social Secretary, Dr Erika Madarász, and Daniel Etawo.
They were welcomed by the university’s management team, led by Vice-Rector for Institutional Development and General Affairs, Dr Mónika Rajcsányi-Molnár. During the meeting, university officials briefed the delegation on international degree programmes, scholarship opportunities under the Stipendium Hungaricum scheme, and support services for international students.
The visit featured a tour of the university’s facilities, including laboratories, where the delegation interacted with lecturers and Nigerian students. Currently, the university has 11 Nigerian students, six of whom are beneficiaries of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme, studying fields such as Computer Engineering, Business Administration, and Communication and Media Science.
The Nigerian Embassy aims to strengthen academic cooperation and expand access to higher education for Nigerian youths through this initiative.
