Nigeria, Tanzania Boost Bilateral Ties As FG Approves Air Tanzania’s Direct Flights To Lagos

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) to operate direct flights between Dar es Salaam and Lagos. The move, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and aviation cooperation between Nigeria and Tanzania, aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agenda to deepen regional integration and economic cooperation in West Africa.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, expressed confidence that the initiative would yield positive outcomes for both nations. The Director of Air Traffic Regulation at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Yinka Babaoye Iriobe, confirmed that the Memorandum of Understanding guiding the airline's operations had been finalized.

Tanzanian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Selestine Gervas Kakele, praised the cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of direct flight links in promoting regional connectivity and economic prosperity. The signing of the MoU between Nigeria and Tanzania is expected to further solidify the arrangement.
