Nigerian Navy Partners with Women Journalists for Security

The Nigerian Navy has strengthened its partnership with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) to promote women's inclusion in national security and development. This commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by NAWOJ chairperson Aisha Ibrahim to Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abba in Abuja.

The Navy is set to participate in the Women Security (WinSec) Summit Award 2026, scheduled for August 5, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. Vice Admiral Idi Abba and Rear Admiral Chijiok Onyemaobi emphasized the importance of female officers in strategic operational leadership within the Navy.

Ibrahim commended the Navy for its unwavering commitment to protecting Nigeria's maritime domain and combating piracy and maritime crime. The WinSec Summit will gather leaders from various sectors to discuss peace, security, and national development, with an appeal for the Navy's active participation to enhance public understanding of security issues.
