Nigerian Passenger Sues British Airways Over Lost Luggage

Amechi Michael has initiated legal proceedings against British Airways in the Federal High Court Abuja, seeking redress for alleged lost luggage. The case, marked as FHC/ABJ/CS/1293/2025, stems from an incident where Michael claims his luggage was not returned after a delay during the boarding process.

During cross-examination, Michael reported that the airline's customer care services did not adequately address the issue of his missing luggage. He expressed dissatisfaction with an arbitration award issued by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), which did not resolve the luggage dispute.

Michael's counsel, Barrister Abiola Olaitan, informed the court of their intention to conclude the plaintiff's case. Justice Obiora Egwuatu subsequently adjourned the matter to July 2 for the defense to continue its trial.
