Elohor Aiboni Becomes Shell's VP and Country Chair in Nigeria

Elohor Aiboni has been appointed as the Vice President and Country Chair for Shell Nigeria, with her new role taking effect on August 1, 2026. She is the first Nigerian to combine these roles and brings 24 years of experience within Shell, having worked across various sectors including offshore, shallow water, and onshore operations in Nigeria, as well as international assignments in Kazakhstan and Brunei.

Aiboni previously served as the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO) since 2021, becoming the first female to hold this position. During her tenure, she led the deepwater business and oversaw significant achievements, including the milestone of delivering the 1 billionth barrel of oil from the Bonga asset in 2023.

Marno de Jong, her predecessor, is leaving Shell after a 34-year career to pursue other opportunities. He has held various roles, including Senior Vice President for Nigeria since 2020, and has contributed to the growth and operational success of Shell in Nigeria.
