Bugaje Critiques Tinubu Over Controversial Electoral Bill

Bugaje, a former member of the House of Representatives, has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu for his role in signing a controversial electoral bill. He argues that the bill facilitates electoral rigging and undermines the will of the voters.

Bugaje, who is also the chairman of the Movement for Credible Elections, accused Tinubu's administration of being obsessed with power and control over state resources. He expressed disappointment that the National Assembly passed the electoral bill without including provisions for real-time electronic transmission of election results.

Bugaje emphasized that this omission is an attempt to deceive Nigerians and cosmeticize electoral reforms. He highlighted a growing lack of confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the electoral process in Nigeria, suggesting that the recent actions of the government could have serious repercussions for the integrity of future elections.
