Seyi Makinde Claims 2027 Election Will Be Voter-Driven

Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Governor of Oyo State, asserted that the outcome of the 2027 presidential election will be decided by the Nigerian people, not by the financial capabilities of political parties or their candidates. Speaking in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, during the North-Central segment of his zonal town hall meetings, Makinde emphasized that neither opinion polls nor the wealth of party supporters would influence the election results.

He highlighted his commitment to effective governance, referencing his administration's consultations with Oyo State residents regarding budget priorities. Makinde also criticized the Federal Government's plans to expand army divisions for security without clear budgetary provisions.

He noted that Oyo State's reliance on federal allocations had fluctuated, attributing recent increases to what he termed the Federal Government's "voodoo economy." His "Reset Nigeria" agenda aims for implementation within four years, focusing on security and economic improvements.
