Sanwo-Olu Urges Youths to Own Their Futures in Lagos

At a youth forum themed “Building Tomorrow Today: Youths as Catalysts of a Digital, Inclusive, and Sustainable Economy,” Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu called on young Nigerians to actively take ownership of their destinies and leverage emerging technologies for economic transformation. Represented by State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Abayomi Oluyomi, Sanwo-Olu stated that youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow but key drivers of today's economy.

He warned against waiting for others to shape their futures, emphasizing that the future is already present in young entrepreneurs and remote professionals. The Governor highlighted the Lagos Innovate initiative, which has provided 750 work-based vouchers to empower young innovators.

Dr. Isiaka Ajani-Lawal, Managing Director of Lotus Bank, shared a four-pillar formula for success: Habit, Execution, Learning, and Discipline. Mr. Femi Ekundayo encouraged media practitioners to continuously upgrade their skills and maintain professional excellence in reporting.
