NIS to Address Passport Backlog in Four UK Cities

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced the deployment of a passport intervention team to four cities in the United Kingdom: London, Manchester, Aberdeen, and Cardiff, from September 7 to September 26, 2026. This initiative aims to assist Nigerians seeking new passports, renewals, or resolution of pending applications.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, following directives from the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The designated venues and dates for the exercise include Layali Lounge in London from September 7 to 19, Nigerian House in Manchester from September 7 to 19, Hilton Convention Centre in Aberdeen from September 21 to 26, and Sophia Gardens in Cardiff from September 21 to 26.

Applicants are required to apply and pay through the NIS Passport Application portal before attending, and must bring specific documents, including a completed application form and proof of payment. Cash payments will not be accepted at the venues.
