NISO Begins Construction of New National Control Room in Oshogbo

The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has officially commenced the construction of a new National Control Room in Oshogbo, Osun State. The handover ceremony took place on Monday, where Engr.

Abdu Bello Moham, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NISO, emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards and collaborating with professionals to ensure strict adherence to safety and quality requirements. He charged the contractor, Messrs FB Construct Engineering Services Limited, with the responsibility of proper supervision and coordination throughout the project.

Engr. Nafisatu Asab Ali, the Executive Director of System Operations, described the National Control Centre as a critical national asset vital for national security and economic development.

She reaffirmed NISO's commitment to delivering infrastructure that will enhance grid stability and reliability across the country. Mr.

Babajid Ibironk, the Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services, urged the contractor to approach the project with a strong sense of national responsibility, noting the initiative's pivotal role in improving electricity stability nationwide.
