NJC Reverses Suspension of Justice Inyang Over Property Dispute Allegations

The Nation Judicial Council (NJC) reversed its suspension of Justice Jane E. Inyang from the Court of Appeal in Uyo during its 110th meeting in Abuja.

The NJC acknowledged errors in its initial suspension order, which accused Justice Inyang of granting an ex parte order in a property dispute case. However, it was clarified that the order was made in line with legal provisions and was not illegal.

Justice Inyang had also faced allegations of bribery, which were later withdrawn by the NJC panel after reviewing the case. The NJC recognized that Justice Inyang's actions were within the scope of her duties and not indicative of corruption.

Additionally, the NJC highlighted procedural missteps in the handling of the case, including the unauthorized sale of property by court officials. Justice Inyang's suspension was deemed faulty, and she was reinstated with full entitlements.
